• Styles

  At Drumheadz we tailor the lessons to the interest of the student. We also encourage the exploration of styles including Rock, Funk, Jazz, Blues, Hip Hop, Drum & Bass, Metal, Latin and Rudimental studies.

• Grades

  If a student should wish to obtain graded exams we can prepare for both the Trinity Guildhall or the Rock School drum kit syllabus graded examinations.

• Reading

  Reading music to a certain level is an essential tool in learning any instrument. We give our students practical and informative reading studies that work side by side along with the development of their playing ability.

• Concepts

  The introduction of concepts accompany the development of each student giving them the knowledge to expand their playing in ways previously not explored. For example some of the topics covers are timekeeping, co-ordination, styles and vocabulary.

• Technique

  Studying technique is designed to equip students with the skills necessary to effectively express themselves on the drum kit. This helps to develop greater control, speed, endurance and co-ordination around the drums.

• Musicianship

  Playing the music is the most important aspect to consider when approaching any instrument. We aim to assist each student to understand what the music requires and then work towards achieving a greater understanding of the music.

• Recording Suite

  Drumheadz has a 24 track recording facility as an option for drummers of higher playing ability to record themselves in order to analyse their playing ability closer.

• Beginners To Advanced

  Here at Drumheadz we cater for students of all ages and all playing abilities. Whether you are 6 or 60 and a complete beginner to 15 or 51 and have been playing a while and need to brush up some technique and learn new skills.

Drumheadz is a professional teaching facility in the heart of Portsmouth designed for the provision of drum lessons within the local area. The studio is fully sound proofed and equipped with first class equipment creating an environment that is fun and inspiring for students to learn.

At Drumheadz we are able to cater for Students of all ages and ability, with lessons being held on an individual, one to one basis, enabling an enjoyable and informative teaching programme to be specifically tailored to the ability and interests of each student.
